In order to breed sheep in Farmville, you must first have a fully constructed sheep pen. You can have a sheep pen on both your home farm and on the English Countryside. Once fully upgraded, your pen will allow you to hold up to 40 sheep, and it will have 3 breeding chambers. Once your sheep pen is ready, you must place at least one Ram (adult male sheep) and one Ewe (adult female sheep) into it to breed lambs. Now highlight the ram and select breed, then highlight the ewe and select breed to bring up the following:
An important factor in sheep breeding is determining the # of potions you want to dedicate to breeding. The number of potions will determine how quickly the sheep will get it on and what the likelihood of succes will be. You can see the chart below:
Once your sheep have completed getting it on, you may now have a lamb to take care of. Your options are to keep the lamb or to give it away to your friends. The sex is determined by random.
Should you decide to keep the lamb, you will need to place it on your farm & 10 Bottles to raise it. You will get the chance to ask for bottles when you place the lamb:
You can raise it quickly by clicking on the lamb and selecting feed bottles (or pay FV by clicking complete now :S ).
If you have bottles, it will automatically feed them all to the lamb until completed. You will also get the links to share bottles with your friends half way through and when complete.
Once raised, your lamb will most likely be a variation of the parents colours and patterns. Sheep breeding is a rather random process, since each colour a parent possesses has a certain colour range that could apply to the lambs, so you never really know exactly what you are going to get. The only thing you can ever be certain of is that it will express traits of BOTH the ram and the ewe that were the parents, other sheep in the pen have NO affect whatsoever.
Some of the sheep and rams encountered so far can be seen here: http://fvbreeders.blogspot.com/2011/04/farmville-legitimate-sheep-breeding.html
